„Lord of Silver Ashes“, von Kellen Graves, ist der zweite Band der Rowan Blood – Reihe und musste definitiv von mir gelesen werden. Vor allem nach dem Cliffhänger im ersten Band.
Kellen Grave hat es schon wieder getan. Mit siers einladenden, beinahe lyrischen Schreibstil wob sier Gefühle, Geständnisse und eine Welt gefüllt mit dunklen Tiefen, Geheimnissen und der Farbe von Blut. Ich wurde so hart von der Story mitgerissen. Der Weltenaufbau war eine Interpretation von Folklore, Mythologie, kleinen Details und Verbindungen, die sich erst nach und nach erschlossen und ein Bild ergaben. Sie war auch leicht zu verstehen, aber fühlte sich für mich auch so an, als würden sie gerade erst Mal an ihrer Oberfläche kratzten. Einfach nur wow. Saffron ging hier durch einige Hürden, Bedrohungen und Grenzen, die er durchbrechen musste, um seine Liebsten zu beschützen. Es war gleichzeitig schmerzhaft und sehr emotional mitzuerleben. Die Nebencharaktere bekamen mehr Hintergrund, wirkten lebendiger als je zuvor und ich habe die leise Ahnung, das sie noch wichtigere Rollen einnehmen würden. Die Story selbst war ein Twist nach dem anderen. Sie begannen erst klein, wurden dann immer größer und größer bis sie einen Wolf glichen, der mir den Zähnen nach uns schnappte und anknurrte. Großartig.

Fazit. Düster, ein Gaumenspaß und blutig. Lord of Silver Ashes ist mit all den Dingen gefüllt, die ich in Fantasy liebe. Absolute Empfehlung.

„Lord of Silver Ashes“, from Kellen Graves, is the second book of the Rowan Blood – Series and after the mean ending of the first book, absolutely needed.
Kellen Graves has done it again. With their whimsical, nearly lyrical writingstyle they wove emotions, confessions and a world filled with dark depths, secerets and the color of blood. I was so, so hooked on it. The interpreation of mythology, the little details, the conections and everything else, it just was wow. The world itself felt whole, easy to understand, but I think, it has more. More to tell, to show and to destory. Because there are so many things, left unsaid. Saffron really has it hard here. Many new stipulations, changes and above all threats, he had to conquer. Or, to be frank, outsmart. Because of this, hew grew on so many levels and I could connect with is emtions so well. The side characteres got also more fleshed out, detailed and in their overall emotions, grippable. The story was just one blow up after the other. It started slow and evolved into a massive, big wolf, snapping its teeth at us and snarling. Amazing.

So, to sum everything. Delicious, dark and bloody. It had all things I loved. Defintiely a recomandtion.
